Advice for life: People with special needs
From the teachings of thr Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson

Compiled here are the Rebbe's teachings and inspirational owrds on the topic of people with special needs. Despite more than a decade of compiling the Rebbe's teachings on various issues, this one was the most difficult for me. It was difficult because parents of children with special needs are aften overwhelmed, and find if uncomfortable to speak about their challenges. Foir this reason, I thank every parent who agreed to speak with me. Even if you shared only part of your story, you are brave for doing so. To all readers, please note that there stories are adapted from original interviews, and any errors are my own.

One common theme was the Rebbe's approach that childrten with special needs should be treated like other children. The Rebbe stated that children with special needs have many assets and faculties, and may develop in unexpected ways. This greatly resonates with today's approach, which promotes the development of people with special needs as long as parents and caretakers provide the necessary opportunities.
