Kehot Publication Society: History of the Chabad Publishing House
By: Rabbi Zusha Wolff
In its 70-year history, the Kehot Publication Society (KPS) has published and disseminated many hundreds of publications on all matters of Jewish interest from Chasidic philosophy to halacha to educational texts and reading material for the young. KPS is currently one of the world`s largest Jewish publishers.
The present volume traces the history of KPS from its founding in 1941 through its development throughout the years, with particular emphasis on the direct involvement and input of its president the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of blessed memory.
Hundreds of facsimiles of the Rebbe`s directives are interspersed throughout the text, which also highlights the Rebbe`s approach to the unique function of a Jewish book and the responsibilities associated with its publishing.
Kehot Publication Society has been released to mark the 70-year anniversary of the founding of the publishing house.
