A comprehensive historical sketch of the Rebbe`s activities during the tumultuous years of 1936-1940 complements this new edition.
Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn, the sixth leader Chabad-Lubavitch, went beyond his predecessors in developing the Chasidic custom of delivering sichot (informal talks)--incorporating stories and reminiscences that drew and held the attention of his listeners. His first published sichot began to appear in 5693/1932. Subsequently, Kehot published the sichot in volumes, arranged by year. The majority of these sichot appear in Yiddish, as they were spoken, some are in Hebrew.
