Narrated By: Levi Goldstein
The details of this story are gathered from rare Chassidic texts, for the first time brought vividly to life by master storyteller Rabbi Levi Goldstein.
CD #1: Tes Kislev - The Birth and Histalkus of Rabbi DovBer of Lubavitch More than 10 years passed before the Alter Rebbe and his wife, the Rebbetzin Sterna, were blessed with a son, the saintly Rabbi Dovber, named after the Maggid of Mezritch. Eventually, Rabbi Dovber would become the successor to his father, and leader of the Chabad Chassidic movement.
In this CD, we also take a look at the last days of his life, and experience the drama of his histalkus, which took place, on the same day he was born.
CD #2: Yud Kislev -The Story of the Arrest and Liberation of the Mittler Rebbe Upon assuming the role of Rebbe, Rabbi Dovber of Lubavitch threw himself into the overwhelming task of restoring Jewish life in Russia, after the devastation of the war with Napoleon.
Tirelessly, he worked to help bring relief to the poor and homeless, while at the same time spreading the wellsprings of Chassidic teachings, the legacy of the Baal Shem Tov.
Then came an accusation, a challenge that had to be met. The opponents of the Chassidic movement conspired to have the Rebbe accused of high treason by the government of Russia.
How the Rebbe and the Chassidic community responded, are the basis of this gripping narrative about the imprisonment and liberation of the Mittler Rebbe.
